Good things for the week of March 16th.

OK I’ll try not to do that again. I looked at my last post date, and it was a month ago, holy crap! I basically skipped the month that Richins, the case I’m following, is in trial, but that’s not really a reason, because I usually post on Sundays, so I have no idea why I did it lol!

  1. my Boundaries class at church! A lot of fun, but also very deep. Thankfully, this one is in the sanctuary, and it’s only six weeks long! No more seminary for me!!!!!!!!!!
  2. The case of Utah Verses Kouri Richins. It’s a very interesting case. I think it’s because Utah is a very interesting state. They tend to let defense attorneys get away with twisting around all over the place with their questions, asking compound ones that are really really long, mischaracterizing everything, and just being rather ridiculous. There were really long arguments that were all for nothing, because the defense never put on a case! That is, until the Judge really doesn’t like the mischaracterizing, etc, then he’ll say something, but otherwise nah. The state couldn’t jump up and object every second either, otherwise the jury would get mad. We did have a whole bunch of objections!! Since the defense didn’t put on a case, Closings will be tomorrow.
  3. Although I had to pay for it, having my computer recovered at Staples. It’s so much easier now that I can task switch back and forth!!!
  4. Completely getting rid of threading in thunderbird. I didn’t have to ditch Thunderbird, if I got rid of that ridiculous thing!!!
  5. Streamers who cover cases, and read filings. .My biggest tip is to find the ones that cover trials and hearings, and read filings. This way, you’ll have the cleanest record of a case. If you just find someone reading from a script about a case to you, you’ll need to go do further research. You can also use a clean feed. I’ll very often use clean feeds! If it’s a filing, there’s no such thing as a clean feed of a filing that I can actually use. A clean feed is a feed without running commentary. Here’s my one big tip and condition for that. If you constantly talk over the testimony without pausing. It’s a no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The reason is, it distracts me, and I can’t concentrate on the testimony, I start to concentrate on what the streamer is saying. If you can hold your thoughts in until you manage to pause the court feed, or until theirs a break, then great, we’re good! So,when I’m in a trial, I do prefer something for reading purposes. If you have the style where you put something on the screen, and don’t ask the witness to read it, Thanks but never thanks to the prosecutor in Richins!!! I would like the commentator to read it for me. However, I don’t need and/or want constant chattyness.

Updates from me.

Life has been good here lately. As my mom asked recently, “you’ve been going to church every week? the answer is yes! Right now, I’m going every Sunday. The church knows I’m looking for aride. I was able to talk to the assistant Pastor, and someone in the children’s ministry.
I’m also trying to apply for more funding from the state, for a few more hours from me, for errands that i can’t do once a week. I really only need 5 more hours a week, for the errands, and the extra things that I would like to do. I really enjoy baking! I would also like to do a few extra things, if possible! They’re mostly crafty things, like pottery, i like to make clay pots etc, but I was thinking of using an air drying clay, so you don’t have to fire them, I can do whatever I want afterwards with them, hah! Hopefully they accept my application.
I really want to start journaling this year, I enjoy reflective writing . Part of that is my interest in questions and journal prompts, which I really enjoy!
Speaking of baking, I usually never do much for New years eve, but a friend and I baked cookies! It was a whole bunch of fun times, and I was at their house until 10:00 at night!

I went to church today!

I took a trip to church today, after the events of yesterday. The driver showed up here at just shortly after 8:30 to pick me up. He didn’t call or text to let me know he was here though, so I was waiting for a little while.
I really enjoyed the service! I hadn’t been to church in a long time! I went to a different church, than I went to earlier this year, because even though I liked the sermon format, I had trouble following the worship that was all over the place with the variety of songs they would sing.
I ended up going to a Church of God church that I attended for a time in 2017 and 2018. I’m definitely going to be going back there, because it was a very welcoming atmosphere! Not only that, but the sermon was epic! The pasttor talked about everything I’d been saying for years. It was a message on thanks giving and gratitude, but it was about why we only praise God in the good times, and not when we’re facing challenges. I was agreeing with everything he was saying, because this is my life story in church. I’ve gone to a church that really doesn’t preach this kind of message in the past!

Quick updates from me.

Just a few quick things from me, because i need to post here more often.

  1. I had an MRI today. My Doctors are trying to determine why I’m losing hearing on one side, and not the other.
  2. I had a yearly routine physical yesterday.
  3. During the Uber trip to the MRI, I think I found a ride to church. The drivers around here offer to transport people privately, as it’s a fairly small town, so a couple of them did so with me.
  4. Next year, I’ll be undertaking at least two blog challenges, if not a third, so prepare for a whole lot more posting!

Quick takes post for Saturday.

Yeah these are usually posted on Friday, but I didn’t get myself over here to do it! Needless to say, you get Seven quick takes on Saturday, and yeah I should’ve done this sooner!

  1. The defense started yesterday in the Read case! They called an expert in vehicle event data.
  2. My rent is going up by quite a bit as of tomorrow.
  3. As a result, I’m taking a break from church. I’m not able to find transportation, and I can’t afford to keep going via Uber.
  4. After Read is over, I need to get back to the Simpson archivals! I really should’ve gotten back to them after the end of my class!!
  5. I’m testing a couple different RSS reader services as of late, as I always am. Feedify,
    and Feedgrab
  6. I want to be on Facebook, but don’t really want to have my family find me on there. I would rather them not track down everything I’m posting, and yell at me about it. I want to make a fake account. I’ve tried this a couple times, but it has failed so far. Facebook thinks I’m impersonating someone when I try to use a different name, that isn’t my own. I’m not impersonating someone, I’m trying to keep the profile private.
  7. I downloaded the book, The Artist’s Way, from Audible. We’ll see where it goes. It’s something I’ve always wanted to read, and/or try.

I’m now an MTI graduate!

I graduated from my seven month long bible class today! I had to go back to my old church to do so. There were times that I really, really wanted to quit the class! In fact, I was just done with the whole thing last month, and thought I would drop out before the end. Thankfully I didn’t, and got to stand on the stage, and receive my certificate with the others.
The service was streamed, so I have a link with a time code. I thought what a local pastor said was really cool, so I started the time a bit before our portion. Apparently my former church has been helping them recover from some recent flooding we’ve had.

Stuff going on here lately.

I went to church yesterday! Because Uber has been a big problem here lately, and has been holding me at connecting to driver. My dad brought me to church. Oh, and also class was canceled last night, so I didn’t have to practice dealing with demons, thankfully. I’ll have to do it in a couple weeks.
I had an audiology appointment last week, and I have mild to moderate hearing loss in my right ear, but none in my left ear. Since they don’t know why there’s a difference, he suggested I go see an ENT first, which I’m sure I will do at some point. My mom is doing well, but not back to work or driving as of yet.

First time at a new church!

I left my very old church back in December, because of issues with transportation and the current leadership. I did the church research thing for a couple weeks, and realized that I really liked the local calvary chappel church.
I called, and asked to see if they had someone to give me a ride. I never got a call back saying that they had someone. After a couple months of not going to church, I really wanted to go, so I decided to take an Uber. I did just that this morning! I was able to get to church on time, and a couple broght me home, and took me out to lunch. I had a bit of trouble setting the pick-up pin when it comes to Uber, but I was able to tell the driver where to come to get me.
